NEW YEAR, NEW THINGS!

Things have been mad mad crazy.
I'm just getting over being ill yet again and LFW madness!
Things never seem to slow down or calm down, constant workkkk and pushing!
But it's what you gotta do!
Got loads of exciting projects in the pipeline and I'm starting to feel my worth a little bit. There is a constant whirlwind of self-doubt in being a creative, especially when you're surrounded by so many amazing talented people, but you have to keep the self-belief somewhere.
I am constantly taken aback by the kindness and appreciation people send me. It can be easy to forget your achievements. I do have to sit back still and think, wow, I'm actually printed in magazines and dealing with clients that as a teenager and first taking photographs, I could only dream about.

YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, a bit of what I've been upto over the past two months:

I'm finally creating published work that I like! I created two stories for Super Super magazine. One being portraits of a beautiful model called DIDYER ZARATE! @ AMCK models. I have decided he is the next big hot thing, he is toooo beautiful!

I then shot some self-portraits entitled LONELY HEARTS! Was fun fun fun to do. I also have a video to accompany it which will be going up on the new SUPER SUPER website, when it's ready, which should be soon!

I will keep the LONELY HEARTS a secret till the video comes out, but at the same time, I took some portraits of my flatmates in the same style.

I'm still waiting for my website to be finished, but all this new work should hopefully be up soon!

Don't Panic contacted me for an interview. Here it is:

Notion magazine has just come out with my POSSESSED series. and an interview with me. Can be bought in whsmiths and such!

Here's a little video of the work on screen. Styled by ALEXIS KNOX! and assisted by Poppy French!

LFW:
Saw too many amazing young designers. My favourite show was ZIAD GHANEM's. Theatrical amazingness!!!!! mixed with beautiful beautiful dresses.

Snapped by amelia's magazine, in my pink willy look.

Wearing Robin Switzman ponchoooooo at KOKON TO ZAI show!

LFW Photo booth!

I've recently been rediscovering lost images that I haven't used and been being to post, I thought this one I did of Greg at the beginning of my naked men series, was rather beautiful!

This is from a while back, but I was asked by Noise Lab to create some postcards for their artist's postcard auction. Here is a taste of my drawing skills.

I'm currently in the process of designing my new business cards.

Oh, here's a photo of me by one of the most talented boyos I know (he works way too hard) MATTHEW BRINDLE!

http://cargocollective.com/brindle

I've been pretty lucky to meet some lovely talented people, who are interested in helping each other. And the ones using film, seem to alway be nicer, duno why that is! lol. But the very talented LEE CHANTLER wanted to take my portrait, and it is probably the most honest photograph of me.

Between all this and acupuncture and joining the gym and all the other mad projects that are going on, things are crazy busy at mo. But I am looking at setting up some workshops in the next few months, for other photographers/or people just interested in what I do. There will be Krishan Parmar styling the days events. And we will basically create an amazing masterpiece of an editorial shoot. With an agency model and mua present also. I'm putting the feelers out as to what people might want, so get in touch via email if you're interested at alispelleschi@hotmail.com

PEACE!!!

IT'S CHRISTMAS!

As usual, this blog is well overdue. Been a mad mad mad year! Finally graduated, with FIRST CLASS HONORS! Oh yeah! And where has all that hard work got me? Being diagnosed with M.E. Bad times! But the 3 years of hard slog and £18K of debt would have felt so rubbish if I hadn’t got a first. I properly graduate in feb, so cheesy graduation photo to follow.

So yes, I am currently dealing with the joys of M.E. (or chronic fatigue), which has made my life very hard for the past 5 months, but I’m a trooper and I’m battling on!

My final major project that I started in Feb, called I’M SO HOT I CAN’T WEAR PANTS has been occupying my life ever since. It has basically involved me photographing (so far) 47 naked guys and still ongoing and variety of amazing designers! I had a small preview of one of the portraits at BOXXED in Digbeth in June. It has been fun fun to do and quite an…..eye opener! Lol. I potentially want to do an exhibition with all the portraits next year. The only requirements for you to be shot by me for this is for you to be male and legal (over 18), so send me an email if you’re interested.

I entered a competition to be exhibited in the first modern photography section of the Barber Institute (Birmingham), amongst paintings by Monet, Magritte, Botticelli, etc, by photographing the function of the building. I decided to do it from my point of view of what I felt the function of the building was, which were the people. So the security guards, the cleaners, the receptionist, the curators, the big bosses, etc. The exhibition shall be up for a year and then also come back in a big exhibition for four years. Amazing! Here’s a quick pic from the local newspaper, I think it’s pretty jokes. I love the fact I’m just holding a mobile phone!

Within the time of this and my last blog, I have been in two issues of Supersuper and with the next one coming out soon. I love it, because I get pretty much free reign on whatever I want to do! And each spread I do seems to be better than the last. One issue that came out aroundApril had my SUPER FANS series in it. Was basically entailed me dressed as different super fans/stalkers/celebrity fans, in the comfort of their bedrooms. I also shot a documentary alongside it.

For the September issue, I created a series inspired by LOVE IT magazine (pretty much the best magazine in the world). The kind of magazine with titles such as MY BABY LOOKS LIKE AN ALIEN, and MY GRANDAD IS MY UNCLE AND MY AUNT. It was sooo much fun to shoot, and I got to use some of my favourite people to shoot.

The lovelies Emily and Heather at Spindle mag asked if I wanted to be involved in their first issue, and so whilst I had been shooting so many naked men, I decided to shoot myself naked! Whayy. Only afterwards did I realize I was allergic to baby oil. I modelled pieces made by Christopher-john Sumner. Got a new story going in their next issue, so something to look forward to!

Glamour magazine did a feature on me, as one of the young things to watch! Was very exciting, they also sent me a flip camera to film myself with and featured on their website. Managed to sneak in some bits about my NAKED MEN, so always good! Got a free pair of converse too, bargain! http://www.glamourmagazine.co.uk/magazine/bespoke-special/birmingham/birmingham-video-blog

Just before I moved out of Brummy land, I did a shoot with the girl band POPPY AND THE JEZEBELS. The photos won’t be release for a while yet, for when EMI are ready to launch them next year, but here’s a sneak peak at the making of video. They are the loveliest girls!

AND THEN I MOVED TO LONDON!!! Whay! Finally! It has felt like a long time coming. Now the pressure is really on. Been mega busy since moving here, plus dealing with being ill, so been hard, really hard, but I’m positive things are moving in the right direction for me.

I had a casting for the UGLY MODELS agency, which I am now signed to, and have been going to various meetings with photography agencies, so all positive thingsss!

I shot with my amazing stylist friend Krishan Parmar a couple of months ago on a series entitled RUDE BOYS and finally got round to submitting it, and is now in Double Magazine. Here’s the link. I think it looks hotttttttt. check it out here: http://www.doublemagazine.co.uk/backissues/

I’m always being contacted by people for interviews and such, and one recent one has been for Don’t Panic online, and I really appreciated the fact that the questions came from someone who had obviously taken an interest in my work and what it was about, rather than the standard not even bothered to notice I’m from Bradford questions. Lol. Apparently Gaga should be jealous.

http://www.dontpaniconline.com/magazine/arts/alis-pelleschi

Recently had my portfolio re-printed, and I feel like I need to reprint it again. I’m working hard on creating two portfolios now, one portraiture and one fashion.

The lovely Sarah Vo contacted me and asked me if she could photograph me for Vice mag. She is such a lovely girl. Seriously! And she uses film and Polaroid so how could I refuse? It was freezing cold, snowy day, and I was up a ladder topless, as you do! Here’s a sneak pic:

I want to give a shout out to a designer who I think is one to watch and is actually amazing. RICHARD QUINN! I have shot his designs for a few different things and recently went to go model for him for his uni show, in which I was practically naked pushing a girl in a coffin whilst being a slut. Everyday happenings!

As you may have noticed, my website has finally been made over, still not quite finished. But made by the wonderful Matthew Brindle! Soon I will have even more stuff up here and blog in there and thingggs.

Right, going to attempt to blog atleast once a month! Gotta happen! xxxxxx

The madness of February!

Been running around like a mad woman lately..story of my life!

SuperSuper were curating at the Noise Festival in Manchester for a couple of weeks and asked me to come and do a workshop and talk on my use of self-portraiture. The workshop was called 'FIND A NEW YOU' and seemed to go down well. I met so many lovely people. One of them was this lovely boy Jonathan Flanders http://jonathanflandersphotography.blogspot.com/ He is super talented too!!

Here's him photographing me. I also wanted others to take their own self-portraits, but here's a few I helped with.

Haven't got any pictures of the talk yet, but sure I will at some point. I also had some of my work printed large to put up on the wall. Snapped by this lovely lovely girl in the process. http://www.flickr.com/photos/23211272@N03/

Got involved with the designer RYAN NOON!!! www.ryannoon.com and did his lookbook for MY TRIBE A/W 2010. Here's a quick sneak peak at the back cover.

Was so much fun, although very cold. And got to finally do some photos with Greg, and the lovely Thomas Ashley, both who I have been meaning to photograph for ages. We ended up being by the reservoir and in the woods all day. But I really love how they've come out.

And then this weekend was his MY TRIBE show, was so fun and 'unpretentious', which for me, is what fashion should be! Here's a quick snapshot of my work being projected.

Also, did some shots backstage.

Then went to the lovely LONG CLOTHING boys party. I do love those boys. Super nice. Always good. I had some film left when I got home, so decided to photograph myself in the tshirt they sent me, which is AMAZINGGG! FOX!

As of yesterday my purple KINDER QUEST books are selling in the BULL RING shop CREATED IN BIRMINGHAM! It's amazing! Will hopefully be having a framed print selling in there soon too. YAY!

Have got loads of other magazine work going on at mo, that I can't speak about till they come out, but all very exciting!

On a personal project, I am need MALES to come forward to be photographed nude by me! I'm looking for all ages, sizes, looks, hairstyles, all sorts! So please send me a message if you would be interested in being involved. I am also wanting to test a lot over the next month, so get in touch if you would like to collaborate, model, etc etc.

FUN TIMES!

Exciting times

Gosh. Well this is a long time coming! I really need to get more on the ball with this. So much exciting stuff has happened, is happening, will be happening! I am a busy girl. Gosh been nearly five months since my last insert. Shall try to recall.

The last few months I have been concentrating on creating a series of images entitled KINDER QUEST. Which was my own personal quest to find Pre-Pubescent Fashion Icons. Child Style rather than Senior Style. And also to try to document children beginning their journeys into finding out about their own identities and styles and performance. I have created some limited edition of 25 books to run along side the project. So get in touch if you would like to buy one. They are £20 plus p&p.

Alongside this, I also now have a massive body of work of images of children, as well as some Scouts pictures, which still need editing. I really love this picture I did of Matthew. Most of the kids I photographed were so much fun. I wouldn't want to photograph them unless they wanted to be involved, and luckily only one boy didn't want to be.

I have just managed to finish my dissertation, entitled Self portraiture and Photographic Identity in the 21st century. And thought it about time to offer my love and thanks to Juan Pablo Echeverri and Matthew Brindle for their amazing support. You should check out both these artists. Both amazing hot beautiful boys!

Brindle shall be designing my new website with loads of new stuff (this website is well outdated) very soon. YAY!

I am still contributing to SUPER SUPER every issue with my Senior Style section. I shall soon be having my another AMAZING double page spread coming soon, so one to look out for! Here's a shot of a real trooper senior style majorooo at Trowbridge Folk Festival (buy supersuper to see the rest :-p)

I have kept an ongoing series in which I have been doing portraits at different fancy dress parties, which I'm hoping will end up being a really fun MASSIVE series.

I was also involved with the CLOTHES SHOW LIVE in Birmingham this year. We set up stall and had me and the ladies cracking out the tunes and dancing and having so much fun and photographing some real beauts. Had a lot of fun with the amazing teams that are REDMUTHA! and BABYCAKE boys. Spent a lot of time reminiscing about our myspace hay days. TAMPON GIRL! Here's a couple of shots from our time there.

On christmas eve eve, the lovely LONG boys got me involved with their xmas party and celebrating their tshirts being sold at oki-ni. I truely love these boys so much. Nice people doing talented things are my kinda people. No nobs thanks!

We had fun doing dress up box!

Phew! And I am gracing the current issue of New York GRUNGECAKE magazine!! wooopee!

Okay right, this has taken me forever. Plus two computer crashes..bum! Loads of other stuff is happening at mo! FEBRUARY is an exciting month.

LOVE!!!
